About Guanacaste Children's Community Center

At GCCC, we are dedicated to providing an enriching,

Montessori-inspired education that nurtures creativity, independence, and a deep connection with nature. Our programs bring together world schoolers, expats, and local families, creating a collaborative and community-driven environment where children thrive.

More than just a school, GCCC is a hub for education, collaboration, and social impact, where families come together to learn, engage, and give back. We believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom, and through hands-on experiences, we encourage exploration, critical thinking, and meaningful connections with the world around us.

Community-Driven Learning

At GCCC, education is about more than academics—it’s about fostering responsibility, compassion, and real-world engagement.

By integrating local initiatives such as beach cleanups, animal welfare projects, and community service opportunities, we create meaningful learning experiences that empower children to become active participants in their communities.

Through this approach, we ensure that learning is not just something children receive, but something they actively contribute to, shaping a future where education and community go hand in hand.

Our Co-Founders: Roxana Buonomo and Katherine Jozefczak

Roxana and Katherine are the driving forces behind Guanacaste Children’s Community Center (GCCC).

With a strong background in education and community-building, Roxana focuses on developing inclusive, hands-on learning experiences and environment, fostering meaningful connections with families and the local community.

Katherine Jozefczak, leveraging her expertise in finance, strategic planning, and operational growth, ensuring the center's long-term growth and infrastructure.

Their vision is to create a thriving, adaptable space where diverse communities can learn from and support each other—building something that is not just imported, but co-created and sustained by the people it serves.
